Video of the week: The new Ducati Multistrada Enduro displays its off-road credentials

Ducati Multistrada 1200 Enduro off-road

Last year at EICMA Ducati unveiled the Multistrada 1200 Enduro, a more adventurous incarnation of the standard sports tourer that many of us have come to know and love.

It comes equipped with the same 1198cc, 160bhp Ducati Testastretta DVT engine that you find on the standard Multistrada ensuring it is still likely to hold the same power and performance that we’ve become used to.

Where the bike differs is with the modifications that have been made to make it a more capable globetrotter. Think spoked wheels, electronic semi-active suspension and a larger fuel tank to name but a few key elements.

However, it does weigh in at a hefty 252kg (wet weight) and, combined with the amount of power at the riders disposal, there are of course question marks over the machine’s actual ability to perform off-road.

Well, it looks as though Ducati has moved to quell those concerns with the first in a series of videos about the new Multistrada Enduro. The footage shows the motorcycle being put through its paces in a range of environments and we have to say, it looks mightily impressive. But then, professional riders are sure to make any machine look decent off-road…

Nevertheless, the video is really worth checking out and we can’t wait to get our hands on the bike itself. Let us know your thoughts on Facebook, Twitter or in the comments below.
