Video of the week: Racing around the world’s deepest frozen lake on Ural motorcycles

Who says cold weather, snow and ice is bad news for motorcyclists? OK, so perhaps it’s not the best news, but it certainly makes for an interesting adventure. Particularly if that ice and snow is in Siberia! Well, in the latest installment of video of the week that’s exactly the case.

The video comes from the Adventurists, a group of like-minded people who set out to create adventures where you don’t know what will happen the next day or if you will even make it. In their own words, “We live to find ways to make the world a bit more difficult”. And that certainly seems the case with the Ice Run as shown in this video.

In the heart of Russian Siberia, the Ice Run sees participants ride/hustle/slide old Ural outfits through the harshest of environments culminating with the world’s deepest frozen lake, Baikal. The circumnavigation of this enormous chunk of ice is no mean feat, but don’t take our word for it, check out the video below!
