KTM issues recall for 1290 Super Adventure models

KTM 1290 Super Adventure

KTM has today issued a recall of the 1290 Super Adventure 2015 and 2016 models.

The recall is a result of market investigations by KTM that have found that the semi-active shock absorber on these models could suffer from leakages at the plug.

The oil loss which could potentially come about as a result of these leakages may result in damage to the interior of the shock absorber, thus impairing its function.

KTM says that owners whose models may be affected will be contacted in writing and are being asked to immediately contact an authorised KTM street dealer to arrange an inspection.

Over the course of the bikes review, all suspension control units (SCU) on the motorcycles affected will be flashed with the latest software version for the shock absorber that comprises the newest development status.

Think you own a motorcycle that may be affected by this issue? Head to the KTM website and check if your motorcycle is affected by the recall by going to the “service area”.

All checks must be carried out by an authorised KTM street dealer and is completely free of charge.
