Hevik reveal new three-layer touring jacket

Italian brand Hevik has introduced a new three-layer all-season touring jacket designed to cope with the unpredictable British weather and overland touring demands.

It has been named the Namib jacket in an attempt to conjure up images of the Namib desert in Africa, a popular adventure motorcycling destination, and comes with typical adventure styling, though Hevik admit that it has been developed with extensive ‘on-road’ usage in mind.

Waterproof and multi-layered, the Namib jacket comes with a treated waterproof Cordura polyester on the exterior which has been utilised to create an initial barrier against both the wind and the rain.

Beyond the exterior you will find a waterproof/breathable W-Strider membrane as well as a thermal lining to offer extra weatherproof capabilities. Thankfully, both of these layers can be removed when the mercury starts to rise.

Hevik has also designed the jacket with air vents on the chest, sleeves and rear to aid adaptability while you can also expect four waterproof pockets for storage.

The jacket is also equipped with standard CE protectors at the shoulder and elbow points but, although there is a pocket for one, a back protector is not included.

In an effort to deliver a comfortable fit Hevik has included a series of adjustment points including on the waist, wrists and on the sides, plus double adjustments on the sleeves. The cuffs also have clips to help keep in the internal liners in place.

Available in sizes ranging from XS to XXXL, the jacket comes in two colourways, a classic black with anthracite trim and numerous reflective bands, plus a black and grey, black and yellow version with high-vis detailing.

The Namib jacket is available for a retail price of £213.48 and you can find out more by heading to www.hevik.co.uk.
