I could write a book on this bike but the feelings of my girlfriend (KTM Dan) and myself can be summed up by the fact that we rode two KTM 690 Enduros around the World and would do so again tomorrow without any hesitation.

I green lane mine regularly, despite the fact that it has the long-range Safari tank and a colour-matched fibre-glass Dottori fairing.

My recommendation for a multi-surface travelling tyre is the Metzeler Enduro III Sahara, which will easily outlast a TKC 80 by a considerable margin. For green-laning I usually use Pirelli MT-21s and take it easy on the slippery bits.

The standard seat does need reworking for comfort and the bars need raising by 25-30mm.

For long-distance travelling I use the priceless Metal Mule panniers.

I have owned many big trail bikes over the years and for true multi-purpose use, none can hold a candle to this bike.

Not bad on the road, apart from the seat being like a piece of wood, but an aftermarket job fixes that.
In standard and aggressive modes, it's amazing fun and great through traffic.
Off road, you'll need decent nobblies but it feels as light as a 350 and you can chuck it around the mud fine. With worn tyres you're screwed. Dial the power down to soft though and it's forgiving in the mud. wouldn't like to drop it hard though.
Load it up with luggage, bash plate, screen, a decent pipe and it's a great adventurer. I've always ridden racers but this is the dogs nuts. And it looks the part too.

The only trouble is finding the best compromise tyre for on and off road but be prepared to change them every 2000 miles.

Good point :- Lightweight, well built up, powerful engine. Many accessories available, best overland bike.
Bad point :- Seat is hard like rock, seat is high, handlebar vibration and shaking on 140kmh, fuel tank small 12litre ( range 180 to 210 km ).

I add in :-
1) Touratech 35 & 42 alu tank, can hide my 8 liters plastic tank.
2) Anti vibration handle bar lifter
3) Leovince exhaust system
4) Engine guard
5) Spocket guard
6) Samco hose

Front fork & rear suspension rebond and compress adjusted to 10 clicks, ( sport mode ) handle shaking / vibration reduce.
