We’re hiring! Staff writer job up for grabs at Adventure Bike Rider magazine

Want to be part of the world’s biggest adventure motorcycling media and events brand? We’re looking for a driven and passionate individual to join our editorial team to help expand our online presence and assist in the production of our printed magazine. This is an incredible opportunity to work in an exciting area of the motorcycle industry within a small but highly committed team.

As a staff writer at ABR, you will be responsible for creating and sourcing content for the ABR website (including written word and video), contributing to our social media accounts, and assisting in the production of the printed magazine. Your work will include motorcycle reviews, gear tests, trip reports, news pieces, sponsored content, and plenty more. It’s safe to say the subject matter is pretty exciting…

The successful candidate will have a talent for story telling and writing, and a passion for motorcycles and travel. The position will be full-time office-based, and our office is located in Stratford upon Avon.

Responsibilities:

  • Creating, sourcing, and uploading stories and features to the ABR website via the WordPress CMS
  • Assisting with the production of ABR magazine by writing features, product reviews, trip reports
  • Attending new motorcycle and product launches on behalf of ABR and writing about your experiences
  • Assisting with the proof-reading of features
  • Liaising with authors, marketing staff, and designers
  • Fact-checking to ensure all details published are factual and correct
  • Working closely with the ABR editor to implement the Adventure Bike Rider Content Strategy
  • Ad hoc editorial assignments

Key skills required:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Previous experience in publishing is desired, though we will consider outstanding candidates who have none
  • Video presentation skills
  • Adaptability
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • A team player but also someone who is self-motivated and has excellent time management
  • Commercially driven and minded
  • Proof reading skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Organisational skills

Schedule: Monday – Friday
Salary: £25,000 – £28,000

ABR is based in Stratford upon Avon, so you will ideally be located in the area or be willing to relocate.

A full UK category A motorcycle licence is also required, and you will be able to make use of the company’s fleet of long-termers.
