12 month challenge

The 2nd ABR 12 Month Challenge is underway, and already the first intrepid bikers are gearing up, swinging their legs over the saddle, and hitting the road in pursuit of ultimate glory.

If you’re unfamiliar with the Challenge, the premise is simple: complete 12 cracking rides across the UK in 12 months. Each route has been carefully crafted and selected by the ABR team for their thrilling riding, natural scenery, interesting local spots, and good food along the way.

While the Challenge has been designed with the idea of doing one ride a month, you can complete the routes in any order, at any time. You’re more than welcome to combine multiple routes into a single trip, or save some for the summer. The important thing is to get out there and enjoy spending time riding around this island of ours.

ABR reader and adventure biker Matt Harling organised a group ride of January’s route, the Mid Wales Loop, via the Facebook page ‘ABR UK Challenge Riders‘ which brings together bikers striving and supporting each other to complete all 12 routes. If you’re interested in going on group rides or have any questions, that’s a great place to go.
