Study reveals how effective antilock braking systems are in reducing motorcycle accidents
Written by Bryn Davies

In 2012 an EU directive was passed which made it compulsory for all bikes over 125cc that are manufactured after 2016 to be fitted with ABS.

The news met criticism throughout the motorcycling industry with manufacturers sighting the increased cost of production as a stumbling point and consumers being irked that bureaucrats would have a say in how they ride.

Riding a motorcycle is a potentially dangerous activity, there's no two ways about it. It doesn't matter if you consider yourself the best rider on the road, if someone pulls in front of you and you're travelling at speed, it could be curtains.

Written by Bryn Davies and Shane Hargrave

Way back at the tail end of 2013, famed Italian bike manufacturer MV Agusta announced the launch of the bike that would signal their first foray into the adventure bike sector, the Turismo Veloce 800. With classic Italian styling that the company has become so known for, it was highly anticipated by those who wanted to make the switch from sports bike to adventure tourer.

How to maximise the resale value of your bike
Written by ABR Staff

As much as we'd all love to have an aircraft hanger full of our dream rides, reality often means that if we want some new metal, we'll have to sell one of our current bikes. It's normally a sad time, but it's a necessary evil.

With the above in mind, we teamed up with WeBuyAnyBike to explain how you can maximise the resale value of your bike.

6 things I learnt from throwing an Africa Twin around off-road
Written by Bryn Davies

Earlier this year I attended the opening of the Honda Adventure Centre in Mythyr Tydfil, South Wales. The centre was opened by Honda in an effort to get riders onto the new Africa Twin to experience first hand just how capable the big bike is off-road, while also getting the chance to learn some techniques from various experts, like Dave Thorpe and Pat Jackson.

On the ABR forum: What are the best adventure motorcycling books?
Written by Rob Slade

If you're a regular visitor of the ABR forum, you'll know that there can occasionally be some off-topic threads such as Brexit or American politics. This also seems to have been the case last week, with a thread popping up about Labour and the recent leadership contest.

Avoid that however, and you get to the good stuff, with plenty of bikers giving valuable advice and making two-wheeled plans. This week, we saw questions about the best adventure motorcycling books, fixing plastic panels on the bike and a discussion about whether or not all bikes eventually end up being crap. Can you help anyone out?
