It's official....I am a moron! Being a train lover as well as a bike lover I headed out at 5 this evening to see a possible locomotive clearing our line of snow...needless to say it couldn't get through the snow at Forsinard (30-40mins away by train) and so had to turn back and head south to Inverness, where they're taking heavy duty ploughs back north tomorrow to get through! Which gives you an idea of how bad the snow is up here!
I didn't know this until I'd ridden out to a station up here...in the dark, in a blizzard, folliowing a snowploug...
Well I'm back now! Have lit the fire and settling down to a cold beer...a bit early I know but it's tiring in the snow! Well -13 was bad so today's 0 to -3 temp felt positively balmy! I have to say that not only is this my first big bike but this is also my first forum so I'm not sure what to do as yet...have no idea who I'm replying to with this post but I'd just like to say a huge warm thank you to all the people who've replied to my post already and given advice...I'd also like to thank my parents...ahem...wrong speech... anyway, ...
Well I've been getting to know my new bike in the deepest snowfall I've seen up here since I was a child...and we certainly didn't used to get this kind of snow in November! Can't imagine what January and February will be like next year!I passed my big bike test at the end of October after a year on a scooter and about 10 months on a Varedero 125. And sitting waiting for me in my garage from last year was my 2006 Black KTM 990 Adventure. Every day I was on the 125 I was itching to get on the bigger bike! Doing tests up here requires a long wait...
