I have had this jacket for nearly a year now (actually bought it after reading James691 review) and it has not let me down once. I got mine for £95 from ebay. In a word "Bargain"

The jacket has been comfortable from day one. Easy to adjust and didn't require "breaking in" With the thermal lining in I've been toasty warm even in the coldest of British weather, and with the liner out its been cool, even in the few brief days of sunshine !

I have never experienced any leaks, even when I went on the Highland Simmer Rally where it seemed to rain all the time !

So, all in all a great bit of kit which has done everything I needed it to do.

I certainly wouldn't hesitate to buy this jacket again or consider any other Spada product.

Cheers
Paul

Bought this jacket discounted to £30, was commuting to town and getting very hot this summer, mesh is excellent for cooling and its a comfortable fit with good long arms.

Only a short connecting zip and the back protector it pants, i replaced it with a forcefield slip in one - that feels much better.

While cheap and probably not able to withstand more than one slide, this is a good budget choice for keeping cool in the summer.

I bought this jacket, well the whole suit actually but I will cover the trousers separately, before our recent tour through Holland, Germany, Denmak and Sweden and I am glad I did!
The weather certainly gave the waterproofing a thorough test, and it passed with almost flying colours! The only damp patch I had was at the top of the chest in the centre, but I wasn't wearing a scarf of any kind so not surprising really.
The fit is good and there is plenty of adjustment with the various Velcro and press stud fastenings.
At first glance The number and variety of pockets seems a bit over kill but to be honest the ones you need are very useful, easy to acces and waterproof!
There are only two down points. The cuffs, which seem a little wide when wearing summer gloves, but this can be adjusted by simply leaving the zip above the Velcro fastening so you can wrap it round further. And the back protector, it's a bit stiff, but I dare say if it was called on you suddenly wouldn't find it irritating.
The zip out thermal lining is a good feature as the jacket blocks out pretty much all the wind so it is not really required until the depths of winter.

Highly recommended!

I’m 6’0” and slim build. This is the XXL which is the only sixe that fitted me. When I first bought it was tight and very very stiff on the elbows so much so for the first three months or so it caused chafing on the inner elbow (?). With a very thick neck warmer or two the Velcro flap at the neck didn’t quire meet without strangulation. Eventually is bedded in and all was well.
Having said all that it was a very good jacket and all the pockets have been and are waterproof. They’re well designed for opening and shutting with gloves.
The inner liner removes for the odd hot day and the air vents when closed don’t leak through the liner.
The rear bum bag pocket carries spare neckwarmer and paracetamol. I don’t notice they’re there.
Overall I’ve been impressed up until now. Two and a half years later it’s so loose and floppy like it’s lost its structure and the Cordura is starting to fray in places. I’ve only washed it twice according to manufacturers instructions and properly re-waterproofed. When in the wet now the Cordura soaks up the water but it still doesn't get through the GoreTex.
I’m not a pure ‘only buy Hein Gericke’ but it has drifted that way with trousers and boots.
Having paid over £200 just over two years ago I’d have thought it would have stood the test of time a bit better.

A very good jacket which I've used continuously since halfway through the winter this year. I bought it when my other textile "waterproof" jacket let me get soaked to the skin one too many times. This one is brilliant as far as weatherproofing goes. The jacket has Goretex incorporated which, in my opinion, is one of the best, if not the best, breathable weatherproof materials around. It has a double zip which also prevents the wind forcing the rain past the links, which is the way my previous jacket best liked to soak me, even though it had an inner flap designed to keep the rain out. This jacket also has a highish neck with a velcro fastening tab and I've had no problems with the wind filling up the back of the jacket through this, like a few jackets I've owned have done.

The jacket is very comfortable to wear and comes with a good back protector as standard along with shoulder and elbow armour too. The elbow armour being adjustable for various arm lengths. The jacket reaches down to the waist area, as a normal leather jacket would, and has a full zip on the inside for zipping to compatible trousers. It is also the Lady version so is cut with a feminine figure in mind, which is why I included a picture of it being worn along with one of just the jacket. There are also poppers on the arms to adjust for the width of your arms.

The jacket has three pockets on the outside (although the HG website says five), the two lower main pockets being waterproof, zipped closed and then folded over with velcro fastenings. These two are operated easily with gloves on. The third outside pocket is a large upper one on the left which is not waterproof but also easy to access with gloves on. Inside there is a non-waterproof pocket which is on the right and quite large and a small waterproof one on the left, just behind the outer one. I keep my phone in here and its been dry in the most atrocious weather.

There are zipped vents that open under the arms and then down the side of the jacket on both sides for summer use but not had the opportunity to try those yet.

All in all a very nice jacket that I can forsee I'll be keeping for a long time. Hein Gericke also do a two-year warranty on any parts that might break or if the waterproofing goes. This is a good thing as I have had several jacket zips break on me in the past and there is nothing more annoying on an otherwise fully-functioning jacket. It also covers things like the SAFE stitch seams that HG use coming apart.

Its also black, whereas my previous jacket was white and pink. Said previous jacket was fine until the winter when the roads turned nasty. I think washing it as much as I had to to get it looking, at best, slightly grubby, was what finished off any of the minimal waterproofing that was there to begin with. So far using a warm cloth to get any visible dirt off has been perfectly adequate.

In the ratings I gave it a 9 for peformance as it does everything you'd want it to do really, an 8 for protection simply because it is not a leather jacket but as far as weather protection and armour goes its faultless. I had to give a 9 for reliability because even if it does break under normal use you can get a replacement or a repair, a 10 for value for money because even though its quite expensive (more than twice as much as my previous jacket) it would seem that it is much higher quality and will (hopefully) last a lot longer. Looks good for a textile jacket and is cut nicely for a feminine bod but not as nice a leather jacket would look so an 8 there.

After recently selling the race rep and leaving my one piece leathers behind it was time to invest in some decent gore tex gear. This Dainese gear is not cheap but i'm a firm believer in " buy cheap buy twice " so after some research went with the Dainese gear, jacket and bottoms, both gore tex, the jacket actually has gore tex as a layer within the fabric, so you dont have to mess about with a "liner" i like this idea better, that just leaves a thermal liner then which can be removed.

I wore this suit while away last year, on the way back to Rotterdam we had severe downpours for over an hour, when we got to the ferry i was still dry on the inside, all except a very small area around the bottom of the sleeves/glove area, nothing to worry about considering the weather!!!

Overall a great jacket ( with bottoms to match ) which i'd recommend!! you wont be dissapointed.

This is marketed as an all season adventure jacket, and that is what I based my purchase on.So far it has kept me warm in below freezing temperatures on my 20mile commute to work with only a T-shirt and fleece underneath. I haven't worn it in a total downpour but so far its remained dry inside. I really like how the sleeves adjust and how the zips work both ways to allow ventilation in warmer weather. There is also ventilation panels in the front and rear, with a large rear pocket to store the liners if you wish to take them out. The armour is non intrusive to the point you don't notice there is any, and there is reflective panels on the front and rear to aid visibility. On the whole I really like this jacket, after years of wearing leather only for my first experience of textiles I am very impressed.

After less than 4months I had problems with the zips on the sleeves, they would keep coming undone, Revit would have taken it back and replaced them but as I work in a factory with sowing machines I got them to send me some replacements and had them fitted but after another 3months they failed as well so I replaced the Jacket with a secondhand Rallye 1 and its been no problem at all.
