The all-new BMW R 1300 GS Adventure is packed with enough features and technology to execute a moon landing but does it really need it all? And would it make a difference to the motorcycle’s performance if BMW dropped some of it, and shaved a few quid off the price of the bike in the process?
In the video above, James takes a close up look at the BMW R 1300 GS Adventure, the German manufacturer’s flagship adventure bike, and highlights the features he absolutely loves while taking a look at the onboard technology he’d happily live without.
This includes an ingenious system that helps the rider lift a heavy adventure bike onto its centre stand without huffing, puffing, and asking for help from a mate, a safety measure that seems to have a life of its own, and a newly designed screen that operates at the touch of a button.
And let’s not forget the Akrapovic exhaust which comes as standard on the Triple Black R 1300 GS Adventure that joined the Adventure Bike Rider long-term review fleet a month ago.
