The New Nexx X.Rally X-Pro Carbon: Ultralight Protection for the Toughest Terrain

If you enjoy nothing better than crossing Saharan sands, exploring mountain trails during an alpine summer, or simply getting stuck into a few sloppy green lanes at the weekend, the new X.Rally from Portuguese helmet maestros Nexx should be hot on your radar.

Manufactured in Portugal and engineered specifically for the toughest and most technical terrain, the X.Rally is an enduro helmet at its core, but one that has been refined to offer on-road comfort too.

The new X-PRO CARBON sits at the heart of Nexx’s X.Rally range. It weighs in at a remarkably svelte 1350g (give or take 50g) which should help to reduce neck fatigue, particularly on choppy trails and long rides, while still getting full ECE 22.06 certification.

There’s also a composite fibre version of the X.Rally which is only marginally heavier, but for those of us wanting the pinnacle of lightweight protection, the X-Pro Carbon lid looks to be the pick of the two.

Ultimate Versatility

With a removable peak and a removable visor, and a facial aperture wide enough to comfortably accommodate goggles, the X.Rally is one adaptable lid. The visor supplied with the X-Pro Carbon is photochromic, automatically darkening in bright conditions and lightening on dull days and as the evenings draws in.

The visor is equipped with Nexx’s Recoil Visor System, automatically tensioning the visor to ensure a seal free from irritating whistles. A Pinlock premium anti-fog insert comes supplied with all X.Rally helmets. And the peak has three positions for fine tuning, and for those who require a little extra shade an extender is available.

Adventure focused

Look closer still and you’ll find yet more signs of this helmets adventure pedigree. Aiding both comfort and safety are the X.Rally’s X-Foam crash bumpers. These cover the bottom trim of the helmet to absorb impacts, soften crash forces, and reduce the risk of collarbone injuries injury should you part from your bike.

Look inside the X.Rally and you’ll spot cheek pads sporting smart straps for fastening the mouthpiece of a hydration tube, making on the go thirst-quenching quick and convenient.

Cool riding

The X.Rally features a whopping nine air intakes and six exhaust outlets for breeze-shifting through-flow ventilation. The Mid Air Flow Chamber helps regulate the internal temperature to keep you comfortable, making the X.Rally best suited to long days riding in hot or humid environments. For wilder and more variable weather, the Nexx X.Wed3 offers similar spec in a marginally heavier but more weatherproof design.

Should you get a little sweaty, the soft anti-sweat and anti-allergic fabrics of the inner lining wick moisture away effectively. And if things get especially sticky, the lining is fully removable and washable for airing and cleansing.

Tech ready

The ear pocket cutouts of the X.Rally offer easy integration and compatibility with most intercom systems. And there’s a dedicated slot for intercom clamp mounts, offering a hassle-free setup that ideally positions the intercom while keeping it away from the working of the lid.

For vloggers, YouTubers, or those who just like to capture their adventures in pixels, the X.Rally’s is action-cam ready, making it easy to attach a GoPro, DJI or similar action camera in a range of positions. It features a top mount (with or without the peak,) and a four-position reversible chin mount for the perfect angle.
