For me Chris Harris is the best thing on the show. He is a world reknown motoring journalist and you can see his excitement when he's driving the cars.
If you watch his Youtube channel he comes across on camera really good but on Top Gear its like he's been told to tune it down and he comes across quite shy. If the Beeb let him present the show the way he does his channel I think it would be brilliant.
However, it's not as bad as I was expecting (apart from the ginger whinger)

He has probably been told to tone things down because supposedly Chris Evans is the star and they do not want him upstaged. If this is the case that is even more reason not to watch it.Why didn,t they take the opportunity to have a completely new format show and not a pale immitation of the original series. I know the show has changed over the many years i have watched it. I must say i will never watch it again.

Personally I was getting tired of Clarkson, May and Hammond, their antics and format was becoming tiresomely ridiculous and predictable. That said, I am trying hard to like this new line-up but something is clearly missing, the Chemistry isn't there between Leblanc and Evans, the German bird is just plain weird, as for Eddie Jordan he doesn't fit anywhere. Then there are the two other drivers who have just appeared as TV motoring critics, surely one of our ex formula one drivers could have been roped in? Damon Hill perhaps, Nigel Mansel or what about real legends like Stewart or Moss? it needs something or the BBC will have a very embarrassing climb down !

I thought the old top gear had run its course and was looking forward to a new series. Why oh why have they just tried to copy the old one. It is absolutely poor. I could only stomach the first episode and that did it for me

Totally agree

The Three Egos wanking off on the biggest expense account in history paid for by us

I watch the specials on Dave but the weekly show had become so formulaic and mutual ego masturbation it was crap

I watched it last night for the first time all the way through, gritting my teeth when Evans was on. Not bad elsewhere, kick him off and I'll watch it, really like Matt Le Blanc's laconic style, make him the the main man (thumbs)

I also think they should have made it a brand new, different show to the old one and started something fresh.
But when old Top Gear regularly got well over 6 million viewers, it was obviously still hugely popular and its a money spinner for the Beeb as they sell it all over the world. Hard for the Beeb to change a format when its still that successful.
The first new Top Gear, got 4.2 million viewers, episode 2 plummeted to 2.6 mill, then 2.4 and 2.3 for last night.
It aint likely to last with those dismal ratings.

There is no chemistry between the presenters like Clarkson, Hammond & May had. They were what made Top Gear.
The ratings since ep 1 have been dropping through the floor.... i cant see it lasting long. At least not with Evans fronting it anyway.
zookman, my sentiments completely, just because ginger nut has the money to buy expensive cars what does he know about them, not to long ago he did not even know what an allen key was.

i also hate commentator's who know nothing about the sport commentating, "the car was doing 319 kph in turn what ever and that's well over 200 mph" lemans 24 at the weekend.
