Top Gear tonight

Post by crofty »

First chance I have had to catch the new series of Top Gear. I confess I was,nt expecting much as I felt Clarkson & co were pretty much irreplaceable.
Anyway I really enjoyed it and a first for me, my wife did too.
I liked the challenge and it was great to see a bike take part.
The electric car piece was interesting and the mix of presenters is refreshing.
I think they have pulled it off.

Definitely the best one so far. I was super excited to see a bike (thumbs)
And now, Harry, let us step out into the night and pursue that flighty temptress, adventure.

Suzuki DR200 Djebel.

I've watched all 4 episodes so far..... and i think its shyte, a desperately poor imitation of what it was.
There is no chemistry between the presenters like Clarkson, Hammond & May had. They were what made Top Gear.
The ratings since ep 1 have been dropping through the floor.... i cant see it lasting long. At least not with Evans fronting it anyway.

I watch it but I have to record it and fast forward through the parts with Chris Evans.

I got exited too but when I think about it ,it was only because of the gold wing which was ridden so slow by the real boring american guy it lost. Not a patch on th original.

Evans doesn't work on this show at all.... and copying all of Jezza's lines... 'Some say', 'All we know is he's called the Stig' and even 'On that bombshell' is just embarrassing.
Evans only really shone brightly on shows like TFI Friday back in the 90's.... and he isn't young enough to do those type shows anymore.

The BBC should have rebooted the whole thing and refreshed a tired old format with the new faces being a further bonus. It's a shame they didn't have the balls
