That looks a good idea. I like to be able to make a brew without getting out of my warm sleeping bag when I'm away in the winter and using an MSR Whisperlite is a bit of a gamble when it flares and preheats the fuel line :pinch:

I sometimes use the legs are per previous link but the weight of the canister is usually enough depending on the surface.

Whisperlight! I had one of those and it was like a towering inferno before it fired up properly :blink:

I've started using gel to preheat the fuel line on my Whisperlite because it's a lot more controllable but you still have to be careful not to turn the fuel on too soon or it gets a bit exciting.

Anyway; that's irrelevant because I've ordered a Bru Kit with the view that it'll be handy to use in those uncivilised countries that don't have tea making facilities in the rooms. We're doing a 16 day trip this summer but using hotels all the way and I know that at least 50% of the time there'll be no brew kit in the room so I'll drop one of these in a pannier and see how we get on. They should boil enough for two cups of tea or coffee in the morning and if we're making an early start it'll be worth the money for that alone.

Because I'm somewhat addicted to purchasing things made of titanium and I'm such a lazy git I use a lot of boil in the bag meals when I'm away on my own I also ordered a titanium long handled foon (spork) so I can get right to be bottom of the bag (thumbs)

A really great boil in the bag is Look What I Found meals which are superb. Ive tried all of them and there easy to cook and last ages. Alot cheaper than Wayfarer and the like and I think they last around 12 months in the bag. The rice pudding isnt so good but the main meals are nice and theres loads of choice.

I use the jetboil all the time and have made coffee at the side of the road with the Aeropress . Great setup, stop anywhere and enjoy a brew etc (thumbs)

I've been buying the look what I found meals for a while and haven't got a bad word to say about them when it comes to quality. They're a bit small but if you supplement them with some decent bread, some rice or pasta they're fast and filling. The best part is that if you just go for the boil in the bag option with some bread you can use the hot water to make a brew.

Proper greedy gits use the same water to heat a pudding as they use for the main course and then use the water for a brew but I'm not like that :whistle:
