HI

Some members upload via the attachment system on posts . (large files sometimes have issues) .

Some members use photobucket or similar type picture hosting sites.

Here is the link to the *we loves Pics* category , the top stickied topics

Hiya GB! :)

Welcome to the forum mate! You'll find this a friendly bunch and rather nosey as we love bike porn. There is plenty going on at ABR both on the forum chats and in the way of ride outs, rallies and camp outs.

You can do as much or as little as you like and you are always sure of a warm welcome at meetings. It really does not make any who how about what you ride, you have a motorbike or even a scooter then that will do just fine as Herman has said.

Some people wave, some don't :) Sometimes they may be busy looking at the road, it may be a new bike to them and they are focused. I never take a non nod or wave as personal mtself and tend to wave at everything! But then I'm always in a good mood if I am on my bike :)

About the forum and magazine;

You have at your disposal -

The forum for chatting away about everything and anything into the small hours.

The ABR Nature Rally that is going on taking in 20 National Park Locations around the UK. You go when you please, in a group or solo trip on a spare bored day. It's free to join and the instructions are posted in the rally section. ABR Nature Rally

The National Rally meet up "First to the Boil" is now full I believe but you can put your name down in case anyone drops out. ABR First to the Boil Rally

We also tend to post up things that are going on in the bike world like the NEC and Ace Cafe days, where we will meet up and have a chin wag about stuff. The Ace Cafe Overlander day had a swarm of ABR riders at the meet

You have Regional Groups doing things also - Norflok, what is that Midlands or South East?
You can have a look at the Regional Groups and see if you want to join any, they will offer meets and ride outs in your local area.

Lets not forget the magazine! Loaded with Adventure Bike Porn and all things that are of interest to we Adventure Riders ABR Mag Subscription

If that is not enough to be getting on with....you can get your FREE ABR bike sticker by emailing EmJ, she is the Sub Editor of the mag. If you email her your address (and perhaps a picture of a nice bunch of flowers - she seems to like flowers!) then she will post you out your sticker to show off on your latest rides. [email protected] e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Alun (He is the editor of the magazine) and EmJ are also always interested in your views, opinions and adventures. Forever on the search to try and improve and diversify the content of the magazine. EmJ will often post on the Magazine section looking for pictures and ideas for articles, so you can have a look to see if you can help out and both are always happy to hear from you with your ideas!

Anything and everything to do with Adventure Riding that you want to know then please just post up a thread there are some excellent opinions to be had to give you options - From routes to fuel prices, what tent to what tyre and even reviews on what camera people have found works best. Of course your own extensive knowledge in the riding world will be of great use to many of us. It's a team with everyone just interested in helping out.

So, once again welcome mate and look forward to meeting you.

:) Thanks for that official welcome, this adventure bike thing is all new to me, but I've been out on mine twice today(only just in now) just over freezing and loving a different style of riding and bike.

Nothing Offical mate - I'm just a rider and reader like everyone else :) I do get a little carried away telling people about the site features but I just like helping ;)

Adventure is all down to what you do with your bike rather than what bike. Sjaak goes to Africa on an R1, as does Nick Saunders. Scooters have chipped across the Sahara and Harley Davidsons make it Mali :)

I know what you mean about the comfort :) Big sit and begs do help for that touring aspect.

Once again great to meet you man.

Welcome to the site GB, and may I be the first to concratulate you on your immaculate taste and style, ;) by which I mean the GS,and nothing else.
How weird is that I was only talking about my Buell today; and then I read about yours, great ain't they? but alas mine had to go because of the lack of pillion carrying ability.
Any way as James has said there is plenty to do or not if you want to, the Nature Rally has only really just kicked off, a few of us have only just done our second site today, so you'll not be left playing catchup.
The regional groups are good fun, and might I suggest the GS owners group as an excellent one to join; we get together for meets and see how many waves we can ignore :woohoo:
In all seriousness this place is a rare beast where a bike is a bike is a bike, male or female, big or small it doesn't matter, we're all in it together, and all the better for it.
The people are truly friendly and happy to share tales and wisdom, so there's nothing left to add except enjoy.
The end of the road is the start of the fun

A bad day on the bike is still better than a good day at the office
