Hello, be gentle.

Post by GB »

I don't know if buying a 1200GS qualifies you to register on here but I have  Quick bio, riding for over 30years (still crap :silly: ) had a go at most things on a bike :woohoo: done some trackdays, drag racing, touring and instructing, but never done much real distance work or off roading. I sold my Buell last week(after 6years) and went out and bought a 1200GS (not an adventurer) but I love it, never been this comfortable on a bike before, why I didn't do this earlier I do not know. I don't own a car so it will be used for a 30mile commute each day plus everything else. So any advice is welcome as you are never to old to learn.

Whats the deal with GS riders then? As a group the only ones I've found to be up their own body parts is Goldwing owners, and over the years I've owned Honda,Suzuki,Kawasaki,Yamaha, CZ,BSA,Malaguti,Ducati, Buell and now BMW and apart from KTM and the obscure manufacturers I've ridden most other brands too. I know big twin Harley riders can also be a bit "thats not a real motorcycle it's only 1200cc!" but on the whole most motorcyclists like the brand they ride and like to rip the piss out of everyone else's bike, I know that for a fact, I had a Buell!!!

You've not had a GS long enough yet then!

Just the way it goes mate, I'm a lifelong Honda rider with the odd Triumph thrown in. Seems to be quite high feelings on here, just like other forums regarding GS's, hopefully it'll blow over. ;)
