Re: EU. In or out?
I think you vote for a party in Holland and there's a person that's head of the party is who will become president if I'm not mistaken. (as I haven't ever voted bar the one time) Not quite. We have a king (or queen) as formal Head of State, and (s)he is not elected at all. The Minister-president is...

Re: EU. In or out?
Whilst at an Automotive OEM in Belgium for last 2 days looking at a potential new project (UK export !) there was a lot of positive comments about Brexit from the management and several of this companies project guys from the Netherlands are strongly in favour of getting their own vote to leave the...

Re: EU. In or out?
(...) To suggest that studying in Europe can only happen as a member of the EU is incorrect. It's well documented that degree courses are way cheaper in Holland too and despite this UK students still prefer to study within the UK. Is that lower cost really because we are a member of the EU ? Why ar...

Re: EU. In or out?
Suppose you lived in a country that had suffered years of economic depression caused by bankers incompetence and greed. In that country a man rises to prominence, who is not a member of the established parties but is a good orator. He gets popular support by proclaiming that your country's problems...

Re: Is it time for referendum on royal family ?
In the light of recent events in the UK I must confess I find the post very funny, expecially the NHS funding argument.

Re: EU Membership Key Demands
As a fellow-European (until you have had your referendum, that is) I would applaud GB's leaving: either you're in and committed, or out, and GB has not been committed for a long time, if ever. Back when Maggie T. demanded 'her money back', they should have shown her out politely. At the same time I ...

Re: Remove helmet at petrol station?
I don't like it when I can't see people's faces, so I find reasonable if they want to see my face. That's why I alway flip up the front of my helmet at filling stations. No bother at all.

Re: Uk country roads...lets here from locals.. GPX FILES in thread.
An alternative solution might be the Dutch OnRoute Motorkaart , which sends you over secondary and smaller roads. The new edition includes Britain. It is a routable map file that works with Garmin satnavs only. I have used several editions for three years now and am impressed. No, I don't have any f...
