When I went to the NW200 last year a guy called Popeye tied my 990 adventure down. The side stand is bolted directly to the sump. He was tightening that ratchet strap up so tight I was cringing (and was just waiting for that sump to crack), I even said... that's enough you might hurt it!!!

I fitted them to my 1190 Adventure R, there are good things ang bad I think.
PRO'S
Locking system is excellent.
Panniers are well made, excellent build quality.
After sales service is excellent if bought from Adv bike shop (the only place in the UK I know that sells them).

Re: welder
I use an r-tech 160 amp tig (110 amp electric arc) inverter at home (runs off a 13 amp fuse). I've maxed it out quite a few times and it hasn't tripped. We use 3 phase 400 amp Butters Mig transformers at work, last forever. (Wire feeders are crap).
If your looking at running a mig off 13 amp your ...

I have a KTM 990 adventure at the moment. For me it's a marmite bike, I love it and I hate the bloody thing aswell!!!
It's the sweetest handling bike you will ever ride (basicaly it's just a 1000cc crosser). But it just isn't practical for adventure riding. The bike guzzles oil!!!

Re: How did they cut this ground anchor?
Zena do zone alarms which are pretty cheap £30 disabled by a remote you just hide it in your garage. You can then add more that go off that master alarm.

Re: Shoei Hornet ds fogging problems
Thanks for all the help I'll give the pinlock another go but with the visor being more of a vee shape (I've even tried putting silicon gun oil around the seal). I think I'll go to the motorbike shop tomorrow to see if they've got anyting. I need to get it sorted before I go away.

Re: How did they cut this ground anchor?
By the big dent in the left hand side I think it's been hit with something.
A lot of these ground anchors are production mig welded (high production mig).
And when under pressure to get a certain amount out per day. The heat on the welding pot goes up and travel speed goes up. There looks like ...

Shoei Hornet ds fogging problems
Hi Folks
I have a Shoei Hornet DS, it's a great helmet but a slow speeds it keeps fogging up. This happens even with a pinlock (due to the shape of the visor)
Has anyone come up with a solution to this?
thanks
Dom
