Garmin Montana 600

Post by doctor »

Hi Chaps, Can any one recommend a garmin specialist in North Yorkshire. My 600 won't read the Europe city navigator maps. Got one last year but sent it back to amazon after pulling my hair out trying to get it to work !! So would like to simply call at a shop and get it all sorted. Failing this has any one tried the cheaper maps of Europe from Russia. Cheers David

When I have had problems with Garmin units, I have gone through their lengthy proceeding and they then send you a number and an address on the UK Garmin repair unit. You post it to them. They just replaced my unit with another one. Your unit must be registered to you to start the process. I use a garmin world map and another I down loaded for more detail in Turkey.

City navigator works really well. Have you selected the map via the Garmin unit? Is the map on a card or is it a download?

I've tried using maps I've copied with no look, to be honest you can't beat the original garmin maps, but they are so expensive,

Whereabouts in North Yorkshire?
Are you looking to buy another unit or do you have the unit and just want the maps?

Hi just near Pickering, I have a montana 600 with detailed maps for the uk, and uk and Ireland road maps. Was looking to put maps on for a trip to Sweden in July.
