Surely its just a collection of opensource maps and uses your phones built in gps device....
Okay for techno bods who love the latest gizzmo and have a dogs bollocks phone...which requires contsant charging and dosent like dust, water, bright sunlight or vibration...
Ill stick with a map and basic satnav thanks....
A Android a6 tab is excellent with opensource topo maps use layers of gpx files from.wikiloc....
Opps sorry ive gone all geeky

Viewranger all the way!!! Though when in Spain I've download GPx files from wikiloc to follow off road and was pleasantly surprised. Drive to pyrenees, stop anywhere and just download and use on the day, nice little adventure!

Re: Wikiloc app
I had view ranger, it didn't work so good for me. Also I had to buy map tiles (not sure that's still the case. It used to hang all the time on the android version.FERDINAND PICK wrote:Viewranger all the way!!! Re: Wikiloc app
I use wikiloc for trails and mapping a route, download the gpx and add to memory map, or me garmin that i still cannot work !!
found wikiloc to be very good at mapping as it uses no data.
memory map has cost about Β£30 for the mapping i need for UK. served me well over the last few years

Re: Wikiloc app
I used it in Portugal and found it very worth while. Just remember when they say, easy , moderate and hard trails they may have been riding gods
The great philosopher Keating once said:
"Life`s a roller coaster, you just have to ride it".
