F800gs Wanted

Post by wispyone »

Good afternoon, as stated above I am looking for a F800GS.
There are a few close to Leeds where I live but thought I would ask on here in case anyone was thinking of selling.
Looking for a 13 plate or newer, low miles and service history.
Budget around £5500 or slightly more for the right bike.

Cheers

I PX'd one in Grey. KD motorcycles (Part of Chorley Yamaha group) took it in.
Its not pristine, but it's sorted and has loads of bits. 09 bike with 25K.
I know they still have it in stock, I don't know what price it's at....but it's winter and I know what they allowed me on it, so I'd say you may get it for 4K.

Hey buddy .
I would consider 5500, only consider for my 2009, 25k full service .
Why do you want a 2013 ?
Out of interest really .
I would b happy to listen to people tell me why mine is not worth 5500 and y 2013 is better ?
I've had all the parts ( clutch , head work , rear shock fitting ) that Bmw neglected to fix when they sold the bikes.
The one in the pic looks good for 4k..
Mine does not have abs or Traction control , they are better now but it felt crap back in 2009 so I opted to loose the weight n risk of failure .
There is a great thread on f800s on the site , I suggest you read it.
If you want the f800 for off road use as well ( even light work) then extensive modifications are required .
I built mine for Africa adventure .
Too many parts to list but when on service with Beemer I often take a new one out or the adventure .
I love mine so much more !!
Not just the handing ( fork springs are progressive and weighted for the bike unlike stock )
She has a full arrow decat header and exhaust with a titanium carbon akrapovic silencer .
Full dyno jet pc5 with custom mapping ( saves fuel increase in power ).
Garmin Montana mount n lock.
Touratech racks n the lightest boxes they do.
Comfort seat .
TT back rack n loads o protection .
Fastway foot pegs , changes geometry v. Slightly for comfort when long distance .
Heated grips and extra computer pack from Beemer .
Loads of bash guards and mud sling fitted , tall screen etc.
Actually I love the bike , it goes anywhere and feels great to ride .
I doubt I'll sell it but I thought I would see what she is worth now , I certainly would not sell her for 4k so check out that deal!
If they are looked after with extras I would consider 2009-2012 , I prefer the look of the older models and the new ones have only had cosmetic changes ( ie all the issues owners have paid to solve still remain) .
I hope this was helpful .
They are great bikes but require lots of mods !
Good luck on ya quest buddy ...
If ya need any more info or advice drop me a line

Cheers for the reply hooligan. I'm looking for a 13 plate or newer as I believe bmw overhauled the 800gs in 2013.
This is when they decided to fit "proper" indicators. I have tried an older model and just couldn't get on with them.
I do also prefer the look of the updated plastics although I'm quite sure once I get one I will be searching the farkle catalogue:)
