Africa - Nairobi to Cape Town blog

Post by jonboy72 »

Hi

Thought I'd post a link to the blog that I've been doing in case anyone is interested. I've just finished a brilliant trip from Nairobi to Cape Town on a Tenere and managed to make some videos of the riding whilst I went. Might be useful to anyone thinking of a similar trip or just dreaming over a cup of tea!

Enjoy.

Yeah it was a shame about the dunes, in the end we made a run for it before getting into the deadvlei, I'll save that for next time! The Richtersveld though was a massive trip highlight, there is so much riding there and it was empty ... Amazing place

when my brother in law still lived in SA we used to go back on holiday and the Richtersveld was my favourite. we used to camp out right in the main park down by the orange river. we would stay for a week and you have to be totally self sufficient with food and water. plus there was no facilities what so ever - i loved it. megga hot and rough so nobody else stay very long, if at all. for three trips we had it all to our selves but on the last trip they had build a toilet block with showers and toilets. this seemed to encourage people so we were no longer alone :( brother in law now lives in aus so i don't suppose i'll ever be back. i did a short report on our hol one year check it out :)
