paperwork for France

Hi all do I need to take the original v5 and insurance cert with me or will photocopies do? anything else I should take??

Strictly speaking the originals however, my insurance documents are no longer sent out on paper so I have to print out the relevant bits myself to take with me. Therefore they are copies. I always take a copied log book personally but I am a good boy and have never been stopped. Slow down for towns and the favourite speed trap spots on straight roman roads where there is a junction and a reduced limit for half a km as the buggers hide in camo gear. B)

and 10 miles inland on the way back to the ferry, also about 17.00 hrs on larger villages at knocking off time

I have scanned my documents to Pdf then stored them online and on my phone

I have my V5 in a zip bag with me. like most insurgence company's insurance docs only e-mailed unless your willing to pay £1.50 then posted, I just colour print the main bits we need.

dont for get the other bits French Law requires as well.
Last time the Plod where waiting off the ferry & tunnel stopping loads, the best one I saw was a line of cars no GB or EU on the back.
