But none of those stamps is for a service - three have a cross against the service item at the top of the page with one or two of the inspection items ticked, the first has the BMW inspection box ticked and the service and annual inspection boxes left blank.
So, no BMW service history since at least November 2008.
Even if they were all for services, would 3 services in 84000 miles and 5 years constitute a full service history?

BMW Inspection is also how they call an annual service, i'm sure the seller will confirm all work donesledgegreen wrote:But none of those stamps is for a service - three have a cross against the service item at the top of the page with one or two of the inspection items ticked, the first has the BMW inspection box ticked and the service and annual inspection boxes left blank.

My service books are the same, plus I have corresponding invoices showing what was carried out

So it's reached 169,000 miles despite being serviced by BMW.

I thought an inspection is what BMW recommend every 12(?) months if you dont reach the prescribed service interval mileage within that time. An inspection is not the same as a service. A service involves changing oil, filters etc. An inspection is what is says it is - taking a gander - they might top up the oil but they wont change it.
For me a full service history is invoices with work sheets that show the right work was done at the right time. Anyone can put a stamp in a service booklet. And no one even the dealers seem to have a common understanding of service and inspection. The booklet has become almost meaningless.

According to the original Service and Technical Booklet that came with my bike, an Inspection is the 'major' service.
It would entail changing the filters and the oils, plus replacing the plugs..
Edit to add, that's for an 1150.
