Come on YAMAHA ~ build a replica of this

Post by johnnyboxer »

Peterhansel's multi Dakar winning bike (thumbs)

Yamahs should build a 900cc range version of this to compete head on with the new AT

Mt09 engine is surely crying out for an adventure bike frame

the AT/CRF1000 motor is very similar to the S10, ( well 270degree parallel Twin)

So Yamaha have the engine sorted :-), and they have a cracking Dakar history to draw on

why does every manufacturer have to have the same thing to compete with everyone else? super tenere is a great twin, if you want one of such bikes.

imho the new AT is focused on 800cc market and the only reason honda did 1000 cc engine is to cut manufacturing costs - they can have a low stressed engine with plenty of torque.

But the biggest bike that you can do the Dakar on is a 450.
And virtually no one does Dakar on a converted street bike anymore.
But yes, in my opinion Yamaha do need to sort out an MT07/09 adventure bike.

Couldn't think of a worse engine for an adventure bike.
