Adventure Oz - adventure rides down under
back on a brand new bushpig after a year's break from adventure riding so just easing back into it, especially while the DR650 is still on those deathwing tyres. :S this is is a cruisy one day ride as one of the guys is new to adventure riding and started on a big fat pumpkin for some reason, a kato 950. and the other guy is easing back into dirt riding after picking up a nasty brain injury from a dirt bike stack two years ago.

Re: Adventure Oz - adventure rides down under
over the past few years occasionally guys have said they wouldn't mind flying over to arse-trailer and doing some adventure riding around here. here are a few tips if you do.... and just a warning, the visa requirements specifically for adventure riding are tough: - You must be able to wheelie a postie bike for 200 metres - You CANNOT drink warm beer - You must assimilate (e.g. burp, fart, crotch scratch & talk through their nose) - You must smear yourself in koala pheremones & ride up front to attract the drop bears.

Where are you based?
I'm currently in Sydney.
Been looking at a bike to buy, unsure but looks like I'll get a XT660Z Tenere as a cheap do everything bike in the next few weeks.
When I have it i'll need to find some routes round Sydney/NSW

good reliable bikes the old 660s... i opted for the DR650 as it's a fair bit lighter, handy when we get into the rough stuff. we mostly ride northern nsw and southern qld so have put up heaps of gps routes on trans australia tracks, you may find some good ones there put up by sydney riders. in the process of doing all the usual mods now to the DR650 and doing a vid series which is getting posted to a thread on this forum. this is the first vid.

check out the trans australia tracks website, quite a lot of gps files there for great rides out of sydney.MotorcycleRider wrote:I'm currently in Sydney. i think you'll like it, plenty of dirt roads once you are an hour out of the capital cities.craigers1981 wrote:Over the pond next year for GAR . SIDS n kids. Looking forward to your expanse...
speaking of that... having fun on a one day ride using every bit of dirt possible to avoid the bitumen. eden is in the same trials club as me and loves throwing the 950 pumpkin at snotty terrain.

damn, following a KTM 950 can be a messy business, got roosted quite a bit on this ride and wound up with mud from head to toe eventually. revenge will be mine...
