These look nice

But there's no point in carrying tools around that don't fit any of the fasteners on your bike, so you could probably weed some out

Try this:

Take the stuff out of the box you want and put in a smaller box with some spanners (thumbs)

How about this, it's a stubby so nice and compact http://www.halfords.com/motoring-travel ... y-tool-set

Also it's in their 2 for £20 offer, if you needed something else.

Metabo, Bosch and Wera make great little sets like this.

The ratchet handle is good for about 90nM and can take a little extension bar.

My thoughts would be to make your own toolkit with what you really need.

But a little set like this is definitely worth having in the garage.
I'm off on a 3 month solo trip of Europe. Can i pitch a tent in your garden? Or can you help me find interesting things to see?

I've got one of these too....it's what I usually use when working on the bike in the garage, although I have a number of other socket sets (1/2,3/8 & 1/4)...the Halford one's just handy, and i like the "spinner" handle that doubles as an extension. The quality's fine ...much better than some of the cheapo sets around!
