Hi all, anyone got an africa twin that lives in hampshire?
Thinking of buying one but would like to have a look at one local to see if they're for me before I set off in search for one.
Cheers!
Africa Twins in Hampshire?
Re: Africa Twins in Hampshire?
Con's, heavy , don't handle that well (till you get used to riding one) under powed for a 750 twin , and expect to pay over the odds for a good one.once you have bought one don't sell it as you will regret it.
pro's ,reliable, easy to work on, smooth all day touring totally eats up miles can do 280 plus on one tankfull , comfortable, good mpg , great road presence, fantastic looks, better off road than they should be , park it next too other bikes out side a cafe or bike shop it allways draw's a crowd will hold its value and can only go up in value and some one will pay over the odds for a good one.

Re: Africa Twins in Hampshire?
Do you specifically want an @T... Or is just the thought of a big trailie that you fancy. As you could look at the Yamaha XTZ 750 almost as good as the @t on road better off road and they are cheaper but are becoming as desired as the Africa Twin. The there is the Suzuki DR 750 not quite as good as the other two.

If you do , drop me a line, as still have an workshop manual which might sell . On the bike side , I have to say my AT is still in my top 3 bikes I've owned and had it not been for the fact I'm a short-ass , I'd probably still have it and put MX forks up front or had the fork internals re-valved to my liking. The bike can be a bit top heavy , which makes slow riding interesting , but once on the move its as steady as a rock , I did more ride-outs on my AF than anything else and seriously thinking about getting another , as miss the V twin .gingerbeemer wrote:Hi all, anyone got an africa twin that lives in hampshire?
