Hi guys..in the market for a new as in brand new bike and can't decide between an 800xc or the S10.Have test rode both and like equally lol.
Decision could come down to best deal that I can find from dealers.
I ride mainly on road and do a lot of 2 up round Europe.
Would like to hear other people's thoughts on these 2 bikes preferably from people who own or have owned one of these bikes.
Which bike??

Re: Which bike??
Iv been looking to change from my cbf1000 to either a crosstourer or an s10. My bro in law works for a yamaha dealer so is trying to sway me towards the s10. Not much help towards your decision but cant help feeling the bigger engine would be better for two up.

The S10 has the slight edge for me personally.

The phrase 'no replacement for displacement' is never more true than when you are riding two up and carrying luggage. The S10 wont be wanting in the grunt department.
The S10 is also frugal on fuel for a big bike, mine does low to mid 50's mpg.
Reliability ??.... well I will take a jap bike anytime over a European one, and the S10 is now renowned as being supremely reliable.
Also, if you are buying new, there is well documented issues over Triumphs after sales service. These issues have also been experienced by myself by Triumph quibbling warranty work, so much so that I will never buy another new Triumph.

Which bike??
Have travelled all round Europe this year on a DL650 2 up,went as far as Dubrovnik in June and in total have done about 7000 miles so size is not everything lol.In the mountains and interesting roads the wee strom is better than my old varadero but the vara was a little more comfortable on the motorways.
Think my perfect bike would be an 800-900cc twin tenere...unfortunately it doesn't exist lol.

Re: Which bike??
Did nearly 18k in 2yrs on my s10 and it was as good if not better than when new, went to last years Ireland abr rally we went out for a 12hr ride on the Saturday over 300mls not hanging about either and I was getting over 60mpg[but I run mine in religiously for over a 1000miles]My mate bought his first ever brand new bike a couple of yrs back an 800 tiger,he's had nothing but trouble with it now they are made in Thailand[always electrical]
Which bike??
Have to admit build quality/reliability is very important to me which is a worry with the triumph.Other thing important to me is weight which is where the triumph shines though the S10 I did find easy to ride.
