For road use only.
I am currently commuting / running around on a '93 Honda NTV650, which is great as it runs on fresh air and doesn't require any servicing / repairing / maintenance whatsoever but its the most boring bike on the planet and painfully slow on open roads.
The NTV is crap for long journeys, carrying stuff, carrying a pillion and about everything else apart from commuting.
I had a Blackbird along with the NTV not long since and it was great but I sold it, so at the moment i'm contemplating getting another one whilst looking at other options. Im looking for an everyday bike, to fit the following criteria:
Reasonable for long (ish) journeys
Not too big for around town
Reasonably powerful
Reasonable with a pillion
Reasonable luggage options (top box minimum)
Reasonably comfortable
£2500 Max
I'm currently looking at a CB900, XJR1300, 1100GS :woohoo: , Fazer 1000, CBR1100XX.
Any other suggestions please? B)

Re: Recommend me a bike....
Forgot to mention FUEL ECONOMY so that instantly rules out the carbed Varadero.
Re: Recommend me a bike....
Seeing as you are looking at the big boys I would say you can't go wrong with the ZX12-R
It is an awesome machine and will get every bit as good fuel economy as the XJR1300.
It is very very comfy, nimble for such a lump and will soak up miles with ease.
Looks great with hard luggage.
I had one and had to sell it, if I didn't have to have done it would still be in my garage now.
Oh and if you twist the throttle time starts to run backwards, it's an animal...but is as easy to potter through town as anything else.
There are tidy example for your budget out there.
I'm 5'7 and could ride all day on it without knee or back trouble and I suffer with both on things like R1's etc.
surprisingly versatile machine the ZX12R
That's what I would buy now without hesitation if I had your wish list.

Seconded.g00ner wrote:650 Versys - Skippy's selling one on here but it's a little more than your max. Plenty out there though
60mpg.
Great road holding (not with the oem front tyre).
You'll be surprised how quick they are 20-90mph with 120+mph left in the tank! (thumbs)
Lightness is everything.
Lightness with Grunt is a Scratcher!
An Adventure is not a tank transfer.

stay away from the cb900 hornet they were a flop and if you get one cheap you,ll be stuck with it very hard to sell on.
