For me, Bobby Davro's tweet yesterday, with similar sentiments to your post, got all it deserved...

Re: Maggie...........
Suprised this has taken so long thought someone would leap on here and slam her.
I for one because of my background should be left wing. I joined the military in '76 I was an apprentice mechanic before going in I can remember my first military payday, we had to march up to the pay officer salute and put your hand out in an almost begging stance. The officer put my "Pay" in to my eager outstretched hand and upon receipt I looked at the small amount in there and started laughing. That was my first dose of military punishment. At least "Maggie" gave us a payrise.
She stuck the boot into the unions and in my opinion they needed it as it was their intent to bring this country down. This is taken in context of the cold war. But then she did bring the big crash (yes it's not new) and 18% interest rates. This could be balanced with allowing people to buy their first ever council house and allow a lot of people to get on the property ladder. Then of course she sent me to war.
She will be hated by some and loved by others but there will be some who will sit in the middle.
Dying in the Ritz has given a lot of people ammo though.
State funeral I'm not sure about that one, but she should be allowed to RIP.
cheers Spud

Re: Maggie...........
As i grew up in the seventies i saw the transformation of a union led country to a government country friends parents for the first time bought their own homes... also on the faulklands side of things i know there will always be the underlying oil rights but those isles are british sovereignty long before argentina existed and she protected them she had balls of steel she made mistakes as all pm's but kike the poll tax would have worked if and i mean if labour councils had done the same costs across the board because they double theirs per head (cheeky fact but fact all the same)so there was up roar and so it didnt work so she scrapped it.she was not afraid to admit her mistake if only tony blair and that scottish pillock could do the same with the dept this cou try now has but all that moron edbollocks can say your doing it wrong its not working well thats his fault....
So i sumerise i'm not a tory or labour person. i just saw what good she did and was a true patriot may she rest in peace.thankyou maggie and goodnight

Love her or loathe her she was a patriot and loved her country.
At a state dinner for Mitterrand she sat him in front of two paintings of Nelson and Wellington, he laughed and said "only you would do that" and she said "well we did win"
