JEEEZ, tell me about it! I thought I had found a pannier for £32.75, but that was for the sticker of the world to go on it?

It has become an ambition to have something Touratech on my bike - I have started saving up for some dust caps.:woohoo:

Years ago they had the market pretty much to themselves, so priced accordingly. Now, there's plenty of choice - rugged roads, adventure spec, metal mule, twalcom, etc etc etc...

Shop around, you might even get better quality for lower prices

And eventually they'll be forced back into the real world. Meanwhile, ebay is your friend :whistle:

i dont understand the ambition to have some of their product on your bike. i guess some people think its expensive but 'must have', personally i can afford it but 'wont'.
they charge over the top prices for their over the top stuff. some stuff is good but expensive, and some makes you wonder if heath robinson is really dead. £3 lidl tripod stool VS £90 TT tripod stool, being an example. but i guess some folks will pay the dividend to have what someone has told them is the best, why have a simple RAM mount which comes off with a thumbscrew when you can have a bling thing made out of a dozen lazer cut alloy parts with anti vibration rubber mounts and a big lock?
german TuV approved stuff will always be expensive, add to that our VAT and the UK agent's cut and there you go.

bought a tom tom rider cradle a few years ago for my FJR1300 and its been fantastic. yes expensive but to me worth every penny. hmy:

Don't get me wrong Dave, I have paid some big bucks for nice stuff in the past (remember my kermit chair tantrum) but TT is in another orbit to my humble wages.
I would have thought the massive increase in big trail bike sales in recent years, would have bought down the unit price of this bling.

Just realised, I have TT hand guard extensions on my bike - my life is complete! :woohoo:

RE; the pics, if i knew nothing about bikes it would be the RR @T, just for the colour schemes. lime green and yellow? hurts my eyes...:pinch:

dont know, i guess they are only charging what they think they can get away with, same as everyone. and there are enough folks out there who dont bother looking elsewhere and prefer a '1 stop shop' or maybe just dont know there are other brands. god knows some brands simply dont get themselves out there, ive just been thumbing through the new iss3 of the mag and reading the pannier test, one bit caught my eye, where spencer & alun say that they have found over 20 alloy pannier makers but only 4 were at the nec show.

Just looked at the Rugged Roads website that Craig mentioned, you would not know it wasn't TT stuff . . but at sensible prices!

It's right what you say, some brands are not making themselves known?
Saying that, in the latest ABR there is a full page ad for Stahlkoffer panniers, and despite the Luftwaffe name, they are made in Brumagem! Never heard of 'em until today, but half the price of Zega & Krauser!
