gen 2 klr 650 sale withdrawn

Post by minkyhead »

Hi ive got to think about selling a bike as ive ordered a new one one has to go

now reluctant sale is commonly used term but its genuine ..i kinda ordered a bike and then in the cold light of day decided that I better get some money to pay for it

I bought this bike off desertraider off this forum a year ago with a couple of thousand kilometres up
its now done 10600 kilometres 6000 and something miles
its a soft engine very tourquy and is quite capable of motorway drones at a steady 75mph

its the only one for sale in the country at this time its a 08 model new shape klr originally imported from new zealand the age is a 57plate

the condition is very very good with the odd slight mark and scuffs to the engine bars where its fallen on the trails but is in very good order

the issues that klrs have from new have all been sorted and the bike is adventure ready serviced two weeks ago and good to go
the bike is very nice to ride on the road has a deceptive lope to it it chugs along very stress free handles very easily and is generally very nice to ride its best kept between 3 and 4 500thou revs chugging along at 50 to 70mph
it is not too tall and will tackle some pretty rough ground and trails ive enjoyed it a lot

known pruduction issues
dohicky cam chain cam tensioner and spring replaced .as aprecaution .eagle mike parts usa

chassis bolts replaced at subframe

all wiring rub issues have been done ive checked

weak rear rack replaces with a self fabricated one thats as strong as can be
6ml rack bolts replaced with 8mls through chassis

the extras a long list of quality parts

motech engine bars

motech bashplate

givi side pannier mounts currently used for soft luggage but ready to take side cases

barkbuster handguards

oxford heated grips

top quality sw motech alloy footrests adjustable for height

ricor front suspension valves 180quid 5w oil

ricor rear shock absorber superb ready for big loads on rough roads 500 plus quid

the suspension is very good on this bike 700 quid s worth over standard

sw motech centre stand

power outlet

the side of the tank has been covered in carbon sheeting to prevent knee rub the tank is in unmarked condition you can remove them to check after you agree the sale ..they were profesionally applied by a guy that does drug dealer glass in cars

the tank is 22 litres it regularly hits around 390kms before the reserve tap is turned I would say it averages around 58 mpg

tool tube bolted to givi carriers

faults very little the clock lights can stop and start at will there is a loose connection behind the headlamp but its a pain in the ass to get to so its hit and miss all other stuff works perfect
the bike will have a full mot and is taxed until august

it has mitus e09 tyres fitted the rear is near new the front has done one rear and is ha;f worn
the chain and sprockets are ok id say about half way through there usful life

scotoiler if you want it left on 70 quid extra as again want it for the next bike

rox handlebar risers ..these are separate if you want them left on as I need them and will have to buy some more ..75 quid

test ride yes to mature abrs with absalute proof of id and must have road legal insurance cerificarte with them I can find a little rough ground for you to play on if your seroius and have some expeiriance but of course any damage has to be paid for

service parts all usual stuff levers cables filters are 24hours from wemoto

price given the parts on the bike condition and milage its also increadably rare
I would like offer near to 3400 pounds

any more info feel free to pm me

hi mate, nice bike. I have a RICOR rear and valves on the front of my Africa Twin. If you know of anyone or anywhere in the UK that will service a RICOR rear let me know (no one's heard of it.. some think it's a kak chinese shock :D ). Or do you know what internal seals they use on the shock? Standard stuff or etc? They are'nt easy to get hold of apart from if you're interested in buying something.

hi bike is no longer for sale by the way ..i got a offer and then couldnt pull the trigger i knew i didnt want to sell it when i put the add up but i keep thinking ill have to let one go as common sense says i should [im running out of room }.. then i dont want to sell them .. B)

anyway before buying the shock o e mailed them

heres what they sent back

Hi Steve,
Most suspension shops should be able to work on our shock
.

id drop them a e mail asking for any seals of service items you may require for the shock to be serviced

i guess a ring round may be the best bet
ive used these for suspension work but they are local to me
