Air bed

Post by IntruderWithin »

Hi, any recommendations for a decent air bed ( no budget but want something real comfortable , and not to bulky for the GS.

Deluxe aerobed ... on QVC ;) probably a bit bulky plus you need an inverter so you can use the pump on it but you will have a great nights kip.

Got to be the Exped 7 air bed. The ONLY air bed that for me is comfortable, warm and compact. Not cheap, but when you spend a 3rd of your day laying down, def worth the cost

Plus an Exped pillow ;-)

wot he said. The best investment in camping gear I have ever made, transforms night time in a tent from sleepless, uncomfortable and cold to a proper comfy cozy full night's kip.

Another for exped. Chair kit is comfy as well and adds virtually nothing in weight.

To add to the debate ..

I been looking at the Exped but concerned about the comfort side of things.

I have a bad back and usually use a normal coleman airbed (which is fine apart from the cold and pack size plus 12v pump)...

From people who have went from normal airbeds to exped 7 or 9 , tell me about the comfort factor ..

I usually sleep on my side ..

Or I will be sticking my head into tents during the ullapool rally to *test* people's expeds ...

I cant afford to buy a exped if the comfort factor is not correct ..

Cheers for any comments

if it helps at 14st I could sleep on my side with no contact with the ground. Depending how much air you put in it you can tune the comort factor to suit you. I think it is as comfy as my memory foam mattress now I know how hard to blow it up. Took a few trial and error attempts to find the right hardness.
