Anyway, to my point! 227 miles covered on 19.93 litres works out at 51.78 mpg.
I think that is pretty dammed good for a 1200 boxer twin with a fat bloke on board.

Can anyone beat this?

Hell no :blink: ! I'm lucky if I reach 42 mpg with my '09 1200GS

43.5 no matter how i ride my 10 gsa but dont care i love it

Mine was the same! They reach puberty at 10,000m, stop drinking oil & start sipping petrol.

My Previous bike ( Aprilia Caponord) Did Approx 45mpg/10miles per litre. 200miles = 20ltrs.
Suzuki DL 650 230miles= 16.5ltrs of a 22ltrs tank. Speeds average between 30/85mph two as well.

My 09 650gs has fantastic fuel range. I normally average between 55-75 mpg, depending on what type of riding i do! The best Ive done thought was riding back from The Touratech travel event, I didn'f fill up all the way back home. Did 234 miles on 14 letres of fuel!

She drinks a lot less on long trips and motorways, which is great in summer.
Stopping at stations our of habit, only to find the tank is still fairly full.

The "usual" MPG is much less I ride around the city 95% of the time... :dry:

Yup get around 50 to the gallon on the R1100GS and Jules has the twin spark F650GS. we usually fill both bikes together and her fuel is nearly always a third of the total we put in the bikes.

Averaging 60 out of my 800GS at the mo, never had such good mpg. Pretty chuffed with that really not had it on a long run yet, that's just hooning about.

Mine according to honda can do up to 100mpg im getting btween 70 and 80 most of the time £8.50 for 145 miles ish...not gonna see that when i go back up to bigger stuff:laugh:

The Mighty Varadero gets around 50mpg which is good for a galaxian cruiser like the Varadero!

Must say that surprised me: I've only ever previously found stories of pretty abyssmal from the Vara, whenever I've looked on the net. Reminiscent of the Firestorm's typical 35 mpg!

yeah, its popular to bash the vara, 'its ugly', 'its thirsty' etc. (how can they love the VFR1200 and slag off the vara?) usually rehashed rubbish from years ago, when MCN or the mags quote any numbers they usually give figures for the carbadero, a model thats been out of production for 8 years now. but its still a varadero so thats ok, isnt it?
i did an 850mi trip in the summer and averaged 53mpg. that not trying to save fuel or pootle anywhere, that was fully loaded up ragging for tank after tankful.
and the 26ltr tank gives a big range too, but does cost a bit to fill these days!
