How did Euan and Charley screw their ABS

I had a K75 with ABS--never a problem--the early ABS systems were a bit clunky but seemed to survive--I guess less reliance on "electronics". I really don't want ABS--except now they are lean angle sensitive which makes more sense--if only they were reliable--perhaps they will get there now that they are compulsory.

My 1150rt has had the whole ABS servo system removed.

I have never ever wanted for more braking power on it. Seems that a small brass link pipe was added and the hole servo just thrown away. This leaves a big hole under the tank.

I believe some 1150's had servo brakes and the servo's are known to be problematic, so maybe it was something to do with that :unsure: .
My 1200GS 'brake failure' warning (ABS) has been on for the last 4K miles with no loss in brake performance but I'm told the ABS will not function. It has been plugged in at a dealer and it is the ABS pump motor which is the problem (brushes stuck in holders-common issue), I will get around to it once the summer is over.

But even without a servo, you still wouldn't have no braking power, you'd just have unassisted brakes, with a harder to pull lever. Charley was riding around that welders yard and what they were saying was there was no brakes at all.

Mate of mine has had the same ABS issues as you four times now on his K1200.

My 1200gs had servo issues and it left me with no brakes at all. I would have to flick the ignition on and off which appeared to reset something. Not pleasant.... however I've now removed the servo and abs and it's great

So how did the problem present itself? Was the lever rock solid, or did it pull back to the bar and do nothing?

Deploy the parachute... it only ever seemed to happen at low speeds... still incredibly disconcerting... no idea what was actually going wrong .. far easier to just remove and turn into old fashioned "normal" brakes courtesy of motorworks kit
