Bike restoration recommendations

Post by fatowl »

I'm restoring an old Suzuki, and I need someone to bead blast and paint the frame and petrol tank. There may also be a very small bit of welding required. Does anyone have any recommendations for quality workmanship in the Exeter/Devon area ?

Thanks in advance.

I've used these people for my XR200's with good results for powdercoat.

https://swtrialsandenduro.co.uk/ used to be good for tanks and painting but I can't see it on their website anymore, maybe worth asking as they also run a bodyshop business.

Powder coating at Williams Oakey

http://www.williams-oakey.co.uk/

Used these guys many times over twenty years. They can blast and repaint and do a lot for military. Excellent work, tape and bung up any threaded holes. All very professional. Fuel tank - I had one stripped by them to see what remained but not repainted. They can do minor weld repairs.

I have seen many unusual vehicular items in there being coated. They do other coatings as well.

Ross Oakey or Marley Oakey are the guys to ask for.
Always an adventure, never a disappointment.
