Cool. They have a decent battery on them.
PAS stands for Pacesetter, the old name for St Jude, and more recently called Abbott.
12 month appointments is what I would be doing too. Basically if you get any wound redness/heat/inflammation or dizziness then contact your centre immediately.
Some, but not many, centres can do remote monitoring on the device but there wouldn’t be a great need on an Assurity DR.

Missus has a pacemaker.
Shouldn't worry you at all once fitted. You will have to have regular checkups and send regular transmission but they will supply all necessary equipment and give you all the info.

For a while you will have regular check ups possibly with your doctor or the community team.

Only real issues are mobile phone don't use on your left ear or have it on loud speaker, tens.machines and the like can also cause problems. Metal detectors are to be avoided but you will be a card carrying pacemaker patients so it's full pat down and cavity search at borders joking about the cavity search
Honestly don't worry too much.

You will need to have the pacemaker changed when the battery runs low. But that is usually done 10-15 years depending on how much the pacemaker has to work. That is normally done on a day surgery

You will also be advised of some changes to diet, etc

Steer clear of induction hobs. A good reason to not do any cooking.

There's a new Facebook group, Cardiac Bikers, aimed at supporting riders with heart issues. Nothing professional, just mutual support from other riders who have heart issues.

Also, if you have heart issues and use Instagram, you could use the hashtag #cardiacbikers to show what you've been up to.
