ABR meet Ragley Hall
ABR meet Ragley Hall
Does anyone know what documents are required to arrange a ride on the manufactures bikes that are available. I’m guessing from driving License, passport, NI number, DVLA. Check code, proof of address? If DVLA check code required is it just done once at a central station or done every time at every manufactures stand. As I understand it the code lasts for 21 days, BUT can only be used once!

If I remember rightly the only think you need is your driving license and proper motorcycle gear.

This info is on the FAQ page of the Festival website
https://www.abrfestival.com/faqs/
Here's what it says.
Yes – you’ll need your motorbike licence (some manufacturers will accept international licences) AND you will need either your national insurance number or DVLA check code which you can get from here: https://www.gov.uk/view-driving-licence . The code is valid for 21 days so create within 21 days of the festival. In addition you will need to have appropriate riding kit (full-face motorcycle helmet, armoured motorcycle jacket, armoured motorcycle trousers, protective motorcycle gloves and motorcycle boots).

Hi Alun, thanks for that. I understand the check code is a one use code. Would that mean if I wanted to ride 3 bikes I would apply to DVLA for 3 codes. Or are they centrally checked just the once? Cheers, looking forward to the weekend!

There is no central check-in, it's with the individual manufacturers - they all have different insurance and health and safety procedures and policies so central booking although preferred is not possible.
I've no idea how the code works for multiple bookings having not used it but there did not appear to be a problem last year and the system is the same. The alternative is to bring your NI number..

That's a manufacturer stipulation for test rides no doubt due to to their Public Liability insurance and health and safety policies.Godspeed wrote: ↑Mon Jun 13, 2022 6:07 pmNot open face helmets then? Re: ABR meet Ragley Hall
Last year I took five check codes...all were different....it's easier to do at home, rather than find out at the show...
I didn't end up going on any rides, as I was hoping for a crf300 rally and KTM 390 Adv test ride...non at the show :-0
