Ktm adventure fuel economy

Looking at getting a KTM at some point. Really like the 1290 super adventure, but not ruled out the 1090 r or 1190 r.

My daily commute is about 25 miles round trip, in and out of central London so quite stop-start at lights etc.

Anyone got one of these KTMs and a similar commute? What kind of milage do you get? I generally fill my 2004 Transalp 650 once a week for under 20 quid, 140-160 miles ish. I know the bigger bike will be thirstier, but being newer it's probably more economical.

And yes I know this is not the right bike for this commute, but the heart wants what it wants!

1050 Adv, mid 50s most of the time, highest was a midge hair sort of 70mpg!
Mines the 95 hp one so I'm not sure it's fully relevant.

Definitely relevant, any info is good. Is the 50mpg city, motorways, a roads, or a mix?

56mpg is the best & 45mpg is the average I’ve had out of my 1190R over 16000 mile. Social use only, including 2 European tours one of which was fully loaded with luggage and a pillion.

I have a 1190S and normally get around 50mpg average over a typical 200 mile ride. Just doing town work brings the average right down as you're inclined to use the grunt away from the lights.........

Best was 60mpg trundling up the M5 for 40 miles at under 70mph. Worst was 35mpg when I handed it over to my 6'6", 18 stone mate who ragged it round the Dolomites in Sport mode

TBH it's way better than I got from my old 950 Adventure, even at a steady pace.

I have a Transalp 700 now for 3 years and had a TTA650 before.
Great light a nippy bonny.
Problem is only a 200km range at best and in Africa that is not enough for touring. Any suggestions?

I have the 1190s and two up with luggage I get around 210-220 miles from a tank with a further 30-40 miles in reserve. That’s on a mix of roads including stop start in town as I don’t tend to filter with panniers and the wife on the back. No idea what this equates to in MPG as it wasn’t bought for economy. I only know the range from resetting the trip after each refill so I don’t need to rely on the fuel gauge.
