Watching your thread & the suggestions with interest as I've got a friends wedding in Ayr on the 10th June & booked the following week to explore some of the West coast.

Wifey and I just back from the Isle of Skye and it was fantastic. While you are up that way you may want to take in the Isle of Mull as well. Ferry from Oban to Mull and back was only 24 GBP for the bike and two adults. (thumbs)

Looking at your map your going thru Glenshee ski resort , superb road , some of the east coast is the best kept secret because everyone believes it's got to be Skye and applecross , go up there loads doing a big round , over a long weekend, fortunate as I live in Durham, the north east coast of England has a few gems as has the east coast of Scotland

Agreed that the west is more spectacular, which is great as the convoys of tourists clog up the A82 and gems like the A839 are almost deserted

Do you mean the Falkirk Wheel? If it is, then nearby is Rough Castle on the Antonine Wall and also there's the Kelpies.

Anyone knows if we need fishing license for lake fishing? Or our license will be enough, the fishing license I've got for this year?
The season starts on the 15th of June but I am curious if We can buy a day license on top of the yearly fishing license or only a day one would be enough?
i can fit in the sausage bag my short river rod and some spinners for trout

Hello all!
We made it to Loch Ness today and we will be exploring the area tomorrow, after tomorrow we wil head to Applecross and Isle of Skye.
Our journey begun on Saturday the 3rd of June with two days in Durham.
Left Durham on Monday morning and the rain stopped only in the afternoon, after we entered in Scotland.
Scotland welcomed us with a shy sun and incredible roads, Camped at Glenesk Park just out of Edzell.
Visited Edzell castle and Dunnottar castle. To Dunnottar casltle we rode the coast road and boy, what a challenge! The wind was strong and the rain showed no mercy and to be more challengeable the fog was thicker and thicker. As my other half said, I passed my biker test

Forget Skye it`s not all that.
Get to Ullapool and get an Island hopper and go to Lewis, then head South all the way to Barra.
You`ll be stunned. And you`ll never ever forget that trip.
