I think you owners need to get a siemens injection system schematic and also find where it reads the air temo from and fuel.mixture settings...also the mass airflow meter..the ccm450 is a prime.example of over regulated fueling that buggers stuff up...

Thanks Tramp, just been reading more of the many pages on the french mash forum and although no hard solutions it does point to a mis match in the EFI somwhere. Its also underpinned by the fact mash has published this years 400 dirtstar has a siemens 2.0 efi + by pass system which assumes a recognised issue.

Hi all, been thinking about the cutting out issue a bit more, although mine does it very rarely would be good to fix. Went for a couple of rides this weekend nearly 200 miles in total and only cut out twice once when i did the "old coach road" in Firle, its a BOAT and my first bit of off road riding for a while, sorry forgot the camera.......seemed to cut out after slow running in second engine very hot, the other was again bit of off-road up by where i live....i have also noticed on occasions i get a pop from the exhaust, not a bang just a low deep pop. Any way my thoughts got me to do some research on fuel injection for bikes which got to think about the TPS, Throttle Position Sensor.........im no expert but found this video and be good to get some thoughts on those that have adjusted a TPS before
not sure how i can find the baseline setting but felt it could be a way forward in the solving the issue

NortonW360 wrote:Hi all, not sure if the fueling issue is electronic or something else but here's some pics of what I did to my fuel cap which seemed to improve it. The brass plate blocked off the valve in the cap which I believe allows the tank to vent into the overspill space at the top of the tank and out of the drains tube, by the channel inside the cap assembly. I think if you remove the gasket it will allow water/ debris into the top of the tank space potentially causing issues in the future. Could be wrong but works for me. Cheers.

Hi Norton, had a friend who's an engineer /bike shop owner look at this thread and he reckons you've hit the nail on the head.
The tank isn't venting/breathing properly
Mine did it twice yesterday but both times I felt it would happen before it did. It felt lumpy
I had stopped to play with the gopro and it took longer to prime than usual and hiccuped a bit on starting. Both times when slowing down for a junction after the start it cut out.
It was so dry yesterday I took it everywhere I would the exc. It certainly doesn't have the exc's suspension but was great fun to ride. Always felt like a reluctant passenger on the 640adv but the WK is spot on

Just to be sure i think there are two issues relating to the same symptom, issue 1 is the fuel cap gasket or fuel cap modification which does make a difference to prevent the bike cutting out under a vacuum and i did mine some time back but added the additional mod and hole mentioned by Norton w360 and the engine feels more free .....however i have still experienced an occasional cutting out which could be issue number 2 and feels different to the tank vacuum issue...........just wondered if anyone has experience of TPS adjusting

Just a thought but have you tried the bike on a higher octane fuel to see if it makes a difference?

Always use the better unleaded in the bikes . Shell is my nearest, so use their advanced

Be aware that if you have a problem with year bike and you think it is covered under the warrenty, it's not,
I would check but as I have had no look I would guess you will have to sort it yourself
