Hi Jon, no I have not had the power commander fitted. I was going to wait until after my 5,000 mile service and maybe see if I could get a test ride on a bike with it fitted and see. Have you got the full caboodle or just the power commander. I don't really want or feel the need for a different exhaust and certainly don't want one which is any louder. At the moment apart from the service and a new set of tyres the next expense will be getting the seat sorted. I did a 60 mile trip yesterday and about 150 mile today and used a pad which I guess is a sort of cheaper version of an airhawk. It was bearable but not what I would call comfortable.

The 60 miles was mostly on b roads down from the peaks to near Birmingham which was an absolute hoot. Today was a bit more of a rush on motorways and dual carriage way from Brum to Newark which was okay. Then more fun stuff back to the Peaks. I hope to do some more off road stuff now the evenings are lighter.
Cheers Jak

it does seem that som bikes have had feuling and surging problems and it must drive you nuts ...i wish i could have swapped bike with sarge just to see what the difference is .. these clips are a standard ccm the lower one with just the zorst on ...the zorst did boost low down touque ..the powwer commader and plug make super strong ..but even at very very low revs it just grunts soft power .. this is how it should ride  standard easy to manage and fueling pretty much spot on you can literally walk the bike easy on the clutch and stalling is extreamly rare ????? ist video is me first bike from two years ago .. and that is how a standard early ccm should work the feuling on both me bikes off road have always been very very good hopfully it gives folks somthing to work off ..but if running properly it should ride like this

Glad to hear you are enjoying it, Jak.

I see you have the taller seat fitted like I do on mine. I think this is the more comfy option of the two but my wife has the standard thinner seat on her short suspension model and has yet to complain.

With regards to the Quill end can, yes it is noisier and for me it is too loud around town but it's fine on the open road. For longer trips (>1 hour) I will be wearing ear plugs, though. My next door neighbour, who has to endure the sound of two GP450s warming up before a run, has no complaints and thinks they sound rather good.

The biggest difference is the hooligan feel that the unleashed GP has. It's grin factor 9 (always like to keep a bit of GF in hand in case another upgrade appears one day haha).

Jon

PS my wife rides a Breva too :)

I should have ridden yours Steve but you were still in bed when I left the Bunkhouse in North Wales :pinch: and riding your CRF in Salisbury whistle: ? Anyway I am heading back to UK the week after next and hopefully meeting up with Jim in Rhayader. If he wants mine for £5k he can have it, failing that well.............who knows

The matter of seats is interesting, different bums for different folks.

I'm 5'6" and a 29" inseam. I bought the lowered bike with a lower seat. I found it uncomfortable to say the least. My conclusion was that my knees were too high so putting more pressure on my 'sit' bones. I changed to the high seat, could still get my feet down easily and can now ride much further stopping when I want to rather than when my bum tells me to. I rode from suffolk to Sweet Lamb with one coffee/fuel break without a problem. Whilst at Sweet Lamb I sat on Beth Parry-Jones' bike, she had her seat remodeled to make it a bit wider it felt very comfortable (she posted details on the GP450 Facebook site). I am still looking for the perfect seat and am about to cut up and play around with an £15 Ikea sheepskin cushion cover which feels very thick and plush.

As regards fuelling I stalled the bike a lot at the beginning but am now OK. Having never ridden off road (or standing up) I found the on/off switch feel difficult at my gentle pace! I would like to do a bit more so will have the Power Commander upgrade done just to ease this.

I will not have the full blown exhaust/power plug upgrade because the last thing I want is more noise. Apparently a Power Commander/power plug only upgrade (standard exhaust) is problematical because it can screw up the Cat in the standard silencer.

I'm the same height as you Tom. I went for the standard height to get the ground clearance. On the test ride I found the step on the low seat pushed me too far forward so I have the standard seat too. It is a bit of a stretch getting on, and I know that in some trail we're going to hit the dirt when I climb off. I'll just have to accept that. However, a low seat without the step would be ideal.

I have the PC with standard exhaust. Not bothered too much about the CAT. If it plays up I'll just cut it out.

Best improvement I've done is a longer gear lever set one notch down on the splines. Much better on and off road for my anthropometrics.
Just along for the ride.

According to this article, the GP450 is sold out. Is that really the case because one or two on this thread have mentioned going to Bolton for test rides shortly?

GP600 sounds great for those willing to wait.

Yesterday wasn't a CCM Happy Day.
I spent an hour on the North Bound hard shoulder of the M6.
Just as I was thinking....... "I reckon the low fuel warning light will be coming on soon, I'll pull off at Charnock Richard services to fill up anyway"......the little bugger cut out just before Junction 26.
No warning light, I phoned CCM....just to let them share my pain, in fairness they offered to come and get me, but I was half an hour into a 50 minute wait for Green Flag so I declined their offer.
I do like the bike though....it's all part of the bonding process I guess
