slight change of subject and wondered if any one could do me a favor when they get 10 mins spare and remove their lower chain guide to check the black guide and hows its been installed. Whilst giving my WK a good clean on Sunday which included a chain service i tent to take easy bits apart for ease of cleaning and took the lower guide off and found the black poly guide has been cut along its lower edge to get it over the chain. The ally holder comes off whether the chain is split or not but the black guide does not and ideally needs the chain threading through before its riveted.......it does get held in place by the ally holder so no major issue just wondered if this is normal or whether our Chinese friends got the build sequence wrong on mine and the chain was already riveted in place when they found the black chain guide later
just a thought and having done a bit of inter-web looking it appears the lower guide is a KTM version and the inner guides under KTM should fit although a tad pricey. Will check with WK parts direct as this should be an item they would stock as its a service item later on

I've got something very similar in my work shop as I had the same sort of idea, what I did and you can try it, get a A4 black plastic wallet the type that you put in a filing cabinet and cut a shade to go round the lens, that works, it directs the light where you want it but in the end I went with small spots

Have found its cheaper to buy ktm chain rubber parts from ktm and not ebay.
Have a 400 exc and made the mistake thinking chain guide parts were cheaper on ebay...they weren't!

Very good, looks a good place to test the bike, i plan to do a bit later in the year when its a bit dryer been a while since ive been off road on a bike so need it to be less slippy......

To be fair to KTM, some of their OE stuff is actually very reasonably priced...and some of the aftermarket stuff I've had (fork seals, for instance) were actually not just poor quality, but also the wrong size!
