Whilst investigating the wk fuel pump I found the wiring crimp connections are red postive 5mm spade terminal and black negative 3mm spade terminal. Also they are not just push fit on, but soldered as well.

A portable gas soldering iron might be useful for in field repair.

A practise run with my old portable gas soldering iron didn't go too well, so tried my big mains 240vac soldering iron and it was able to heat the solder up enough to remove the crimps the from pump contacts. However getting the terminals back on the pump was not so easy. Juggling the iron heat on the crimp and the spade pump connector at the same time enough to get the solder to flow and push on the crimp was tricky. I managed it on the smaller 3mm but gave up on the larger 5mm.

So I removed most of the solder from the pump contacts

and have pushed the crimps on for now ...

If you ever need to swap a pump out some spare female crimps and lengths of wire for make do repair maybe easier to do out on the trails...

Also over the weekend I added fuel into my tank 1 litre at a time to record the number of fuel bars shown on the display panel.

To my surprise it does not hold 16L or 18L but in fact 21L!

So 21L = 4.62 Gallons and at ~70mpg could mean over 300miles to a tank :woohoo:

I relocated the regulator/rectifier unit to under the tank in the air breeze on left hand side of the bike.

It is mounted by two aluminium strips gripping some unused framework.

I then added a spare regulator/rectifier unit to the bike and mounted it in the original location between airbox and rear shock

and coiled the wires above the airbox, and covered the connectors up with tape as a precaution.

Already done along with a spare throttle cable, both routed next to existing working cables, tied in place.

Mine was ok when I picked it up, but my mates wk had a similar issue, but was easily sorted after taking the clutch lever off and the holder was catching lever base iirc.

Whilst you're in there oil the cable, as I noticed there was more of a gap between the inner cable and the outer cable than usual. It took a lot of oil and quickly swallowed it.

Re clutch lever, it feels heavier than some other bikes ive owned, however i did add some oil down the cable and some silicone grease around the clutch lever bolt and areas that rub which made a big difference. Something i did find though is the little black gaitor down at the clutch spindle went really brittle so much so it made the clutch feel hard, so replaced with a new one off e bay and clutch feels great....

Maybe look at changing out the clutch springs if you can find the parts?
