Re: WK400 owners thread.
So, my Kemso 13001 pump turned up and with three different filters and was pleased as its looked the same size along with it's electrical connections and inlet/outlet pipes
But using the most suitable filter the new pump/filter assembly did not fit back into the plastic fuel pump housing !
Measuring them showed the overall depth of the pump/filter assembly to be ~43mm for the WK original

and ~48mm for the Kemso 13001
I did not see how the filter on the WK original pump could be removed for servicing, even levering using a screwdriver, so maybe it uses a internal griping washer (like on Hep20 plumbing connections, not sure what they are called)
So I need to find a source of slimmer depth fuel filters on their own to use with this quality Japanese fuel pump.
Or order another similar pump with the correct size filter etc from somewhere like aliexpress
I haven't yet been able to find this style of filter on Aliexpress, anyone else see them ...?

Re: WK400 owners thread.
I've had a look on aliexpress today, this is what I've seen, these pumps are very much universal that can be adapted to fit most bikes, I used one to fit a BMW r1200cl I sold some time back,
Looking at your filter why must it slip down the side of the pump can you not use the one in my picture that sites on the top of the pump it's not in the way there as that's what goes in the tank first, it's only a filter so adapting one will not effect the way the pump work

Re: WK400 owners thread.
I went for this as a spare for my WR250R (having also replaced the OE with a similar aftermarket cheapie--no problems). I think they are pretty generic as I think that this pump also fits KTM.

Re: WK400 owners thread.
Just to ad, I see your filter attaches to the filter near the outside edge, some have that attachment to the centre of the pump so it would make the filter close to the side wall.

Hi Glenn, found this on the bay
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PETROL-FUEL-P ... Sw3v5YqYuo
Filter looks like it has a shorter neck. Just out of interest is there a different psi rating on the new pump to the oem one giving better fuel delivrery ?

Re: WK400 owners thread.
Ta Graham but not sure how I can easily mount that alternative pump as I need to reuse housing as it has internal pipes for petrol flow and is used to screw to the petrol tank base eg lowest point in tank (not sure where your example sits/mounts in a tank)

Re: WK400 owners thread.
Ta catcitrus but 221907147235 appears to have the same filter as supplied with my kemso unit ...
Ta netsonic but that filter is not suitable as its connecting hole is only at 90 degrees whereas the wk filter needs a full U bend connection in order to fit on the pump inlet connection and then fit inside the small gap between pump holder and outlet pipe (embedded in the white housing). Hopefully these this picture shows why - it can only use the middle filter ..

Re: WK400 owners thread.
What about using the old filter and take off the filter jacket wash the filter in petrol then put a new jacket on, I'm sure you can adapt one you have spare,

If you're saying to modify the non removable original wk fuel filter jacket by using one of my new loose filters/jacket, that'd be a good idea if I wanted to replace the wk fuel filter only.
However I was looking to carry a spare pump and filter combination ready to swap out in the event of my wk pump failing in the future.
