Thanks Glenn, interesting as i was also looking at the EBC pads, not taken mine out yet but they dont appear to be that shape, thought they were EBC FA181tt

So after much searching for pads I eventually contacted a very helpful guy (Jon) at EBC, and after a few emails back and forwards it turns out the front pads are FA664. I have ordered these pads and should get them on Monday so will be able to advise if they are correct, but going by the drawings and specs they look right.

Also going to do the rear as EBC don't have a listing for the WK and send it to him and will post here once done.

Dont have a WK, but love reading this thread. Have any of you boys been on any other big trips. So far I havent read of any big problems with the bike. Do you think the euro 4 bike will be slower im not sure of the regs

I've ridden xt's for many years you seem to accept that the brakes will stop you eventually so you adapt the way you ride, it's old school, today bikes you have abs and jumping from one bike to another it's easy to adapt, I find jumping on the wk400 the brakes are much better than the Xt so it's an improvement, riding a my wk400 or riding my crf1000 or the Xt, I ride the same.

I not a fan of tank bags, I found this one for a trip to morocco see how it goes it's just to hold documents, I may dump it and go back to bum bag, it's neat and small

I've changed the hand grips to the pro 788 as I've found them very unforgiving as most on here have found

Installing the garmin Montana was easy, above the clocks is perfect for me, has protection behind the screen and it's in my line of site when riding, wiring I don't like anything direct to the battery, just under the set is a connector block with a switched live so ran a wire up from there then split the wire to take one to the nav the other to a switch for spotlights when they turn up.

Wasn't sure if your spotlights will be on all the time but if it's any help, I ran my Barkbuster led's straight off the side light switch. Just thought it was easier to have it on the light switch rather than separate.

I ride a Harley MT350 with no ABS and in the past a Pan European ST1100 with no abs so as you have stated the rider learns to ride within the limits of the braking system.Which is no bad thing as we seem these days to be too reliant on technologial systems to compensate for our driving techniques.

If you always have to rely on ABS to stop you then its not the bike that needs looking at :whistle:

Interesting as I've not taken pads out yet to measure or compare, just mine are near limit and I found fa465 ref from some simple ebay searches, sounds like you've done some good research - be interested to see which is right.

Who's ordering what first lol
