You can count on me to rely on you - the last time I changed a tyre was in the front room of our flat back in about 1981 - we're still married, just! (thumbs)

Hi Wiboc,
just read your report of your trip last year. We are in the process of buying a property near Bedar, Almeria province with a view to offering somewhere for motor bikers and others to put their tents up in our garden. There is accommodation in the house also. It is near to where the Spagettii Westerns and Laurence of Arabia was made, if you wish to stop off here en route to Morocco then let us know.

We are moving to the property in January and should be ready put people up within 6 months. We haven't worked out an overnight rate yet but should have a better idea once we have settled in and got essential work done. I could be tempted to join you.

Regards,

Sue/Jim

That would be handy for the Algeria - Melilla crossings. I'd rather cross into either of the Spanish enclaves and face the border controls there rather than directly off the boat. The prices aren't up yet to the autumn but in March they are around £60 one way - but the Motril - Tanger-Med @ £20 looks tempting!

Coming back i fancy the Tanger_Med to Barcelona run as it's such a good deal for me @ around £66 it saves both fuel, wear and tear and accommodation in Spain as well as delivering me just a few hours from home - the two-nights-one-day trip suits best as it docks at 09.30 - but I'm not sure I'd want to ride all the way back to Britain after such a horrible journey, imagine, two nights on a pullman seat ... Nor would it be any good for the Bilabao/Santander crossings.

@ WIBO have you any set plans for routes along the way yet?

Morning....

No set plans for a route yet.....I'm mulling over routes every now and then that should show a wide range of contrast to first timers.

I'll edit the Page 1 invite with any updates. :)

That's 'Almeria not 'Algeria' - blooming predictive script!

I wonder if a render-vous somewhere in Central or Southern Spain would be best, then folks coming from diverse directions, i.e. the Bilbao/Santander crossings and the various Pyrenean passes could make more direct routes to it?

Your call WIBO of course!
