Re: XT1200 S10 Engine Failure
I'm a man of infinite patience but it would've run out by now l'm afraid.
***just like Britney Spears oops I did it again……sold the Scrambler & as of now there may not be a replacement***
Re: XT1200 S10 Engine Failure
I understand what you are saying and i suppose it makes sense. It beggars belief though that a massive company like Yamaha that exports XT1200's all over the world can't come up with an engine within 3 months of your failure.I bet if it were a Japenese car,Honda etc it would have been all done and dusted by now.
Re: XT1200 S10 Engine Failure
I Have a Honda Car and I have to say their customer service has always been very good.
I Should know more on Tuesday I'll then consider my options.....

I'd say "result" but it's been far too long in my opinion. But lets hope it all goes smoothly from now on.
Re: XT1200 S10 Engine Failure
I'll most probably be changing to different manufacturer once I get it back.
Re: XT1200 S10 Engine Failure
Don't blame you too be honest the way Yamaha have dragged there feet over it.
Re: XT1200 S10 Engine Failure
DB - I had a similar experience with the new R1 2015 - less than 4000 miles and 8 months old when a valve stem separated from its seat and destroyed the engine blowing holes top & bottom....... I was told it would take 3 months to get a replacement engine from Japan!
Whilst not wanting to fall out with the supplier I told them I didn't want it back and changed to the S10.... lo & behold while I waited to accept the S10 on the new '16' reg in March the R1 was fixed and placed on resale by the dealer!!
It doesn't pay to be 'too nice' and Yamaha UK have clearly taken the p... in your case!
These machines are supposed to be 'fit for purpose' and whilst accepting 'their' warranty doesn't include replacement transport - their failure to replace & repair in your case is NOT reasonable. Good luck -they've had your money they NOW need to get their finger out.

Hammaster, Thanks sharing your experience - the similarities are uncanny to say the least ! I wished I'd seen this yesterday I might have taken a different approach.
I'll see what happens on the 29th....
P.s
Have you still got the S10 ??
